I'd like to add a few notes to the mail I recently wrote you.
You say that one of the focal points of your work with the class is America, in particular the USA.
Okay, all my stories are set in the US, but let me concentrate on the two new
titles.
S.O.S. Rocky Hill is a simply-written (700-word basic vocabulary), modern adventure story in the Huck Finn tradition. It is set in the town of Rocky Hill in north central New Jersey. It would fit in well with typical American themes like the pioneer spirit, the spirit of exploration and discovery. It has some interesting parallels to Stephen King's 'The Body'.

Cyber Nightmare is set in the town of Caribou in the northernmost tip of Maine. It's a level 4 reader (1800-word basic vocabulary) about the dark side of the cyber world, about misusing cyber communication to bully people, a practice rampant among American teens and - unfortunately - becoming more and more prevalent among German young people.
